ARC’s Thermo-Flo cooling mechanism works in harmony with a Peltier module to achieve a cooler surface temperature by dissipating heat. This is made possible by optimizing the airflow through ARC’s intake, careful selection of ARC’s heat sink, and an axial fan delivering forced convection. ARC traces its roots back to over 8 years ago when ST Engineering was tasked with designing an untethered cooling solution for soldiers. Leveraging 50 years of engineering expertise, we created our first product, ARTIC – a wearable vest integrated with a cooling system to cool soldiers even through their thick uniforms.

Following the interest in personal cooling solutions from non-military sectors, we were inspired to design our follow-up product for the mass market. 6 years of research and development, various trials and prototype designs, have culminated in the ultimate wearable thermoelectric device for personal cooling – ARC.
